Admiring the polished movements of professional dancers, many of us sigh heavily: after all, I could also so beautifully float to the rhythm of the dance. But once there was no time for classes, and now it’s too late.
Wait! Why do you think that the door for you forever closed? It is never too late to start dancing, especially if you do it under the guidance of professional choreographers with teaching experience. The result will fully depend on your desire to master the basics of dance and to achieve mastery in it.
At what age is it best to begin?
Of course, those who is engaged in dancing from the early childhood get the definite advantage, but for people who come to the club at the mature age it is far from being lost even in terms of professional achievements. Each age group has its own peculiarities, but there are no age-related restrictions and prohibitions.
Kids
According to most teachers, the best age to start classes is 5-6 years. Such kids are already prepared enough to understand what the choreographer wants to achieve. At the same time the child’s body is very plastic and well adapts to loads, and the brain literally absorbs skills, techniques and movements like a sponge. This age is ideal for laying a solid foundation for future professional success. But do not think that it’s too late for a 10-12 year old to start classes. It’s important that the child likes attending classes and coincides with his desires – and then successes will not be long in coming.
Teenagers
Coming to the dance floor at 13-15 years, a teenager makes his choice quite consciously, and this concerns not only the lessons in general, but also to the dance style. He understands that to achieve the desired level a lot of work is needed, and the ease of movement does not come automatically. In this case, many advantages of the earlier age are preserved – the body is not yet fully formed, saves a high plasticity, and even with a minimal base the result is gained quickly enough. Perhaps to catch up with peers who are engaged in early childhood, individual lessons are needed.
Young people aged 17-25
At this age dance class is already distinctly realized either as a fascinating hobby or as a choice of profession. Majority of young people study consciously and among the beginners who started at the age of 17, 20 and even 25 there are a lot of those who achieve high results in sport dances. If a boy or a girl does not strive for excellence, dancing is a great way to keep fit, relieve stress after intensive study or office work. Moreover, dancing club is a new acquaintances, expanding the circle of friends and even an opportunity to start a romantic relationship.
Age group 25-40
One has to admit that it is a little late to start professional career in any style of dance at this age. But a dance school can become a wonderful kind of leisure, besides contributing to maintaining physical form. This is especially important for office workers who have to spend long hours sitting in front of a computer. Dancing, you release nervous tension, get rid of accumulated negative emotions for the day, loosen up and get rid of the load of problems. Do not discount the possibility of lively communication with people who are not part of the familiar, established over the years circle of friends.
Mature and elderly people
It’s never too late to dance! Even at the age of 60 a person is able to “anneal” on the dance floor. Nothing to speak about forty year olds – it is the best age to start dancing. Grew up and became independent, achieved certain career successes, laid the foundation of financial well-being. It is the best time to think about the realization of your pending desires and to learn how to dance a passionate Argentine tango or a fiery salsa. Failures of the initial stage at this age do not discourage, but are taken for granted and only motivate to work on yourself more.
